Presents are bought (most of them), packages are arriving, and now it’s time to start wrapping! I am bound and determined to NOT leave all of my wrapping ’till the last second this year.

Between making memories with the kids, keeping up with the homestead, and everything else that life requires of us, leaving a huge task like wrapping presents till the last minute sure makes it more difficult to enjoy and embrace the real meaning of Christmas.
For a few nights, after the kids are in bed, I will sit down with a cup of tea or hot chocolate, Alabama Christmas songs or a Christmas movie playing, and knock out a few presents until they are all done. I do enjoy wrapping gifts but not if I’m rushing to get it done.
With our three young kids, I don’t go all fancy with wrapping their gifts- they are just going to tear them to shreds in seconds anyway, only glancing at the tag to make sure its for them. With other people though, I love to put a little something special into the wrapping. Be it a burlap bow, jute cord, and especially a simple, fun gift tag.
This year I pulled up Canva and decided to make my own gift tags. They turned out pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself, so sharing them with you was a no-brainer!Simply wrap up your gift (I personally love the look of plain postal paper- paper bag or buy a roll of it at Dollar Tree!), add a ribbon or cord and attach the gift tag. Sweet, simple farmhouse style wrapping.*Note- I personally recommend printing the tags on a heavier, cardstock-type, paper ([easyazon_link identifier=”B003A2I5T8″ locale=”US” tag=”modern0fb-20 “]like this[/easyazon_link]). You can easily cut the tags out with scissors or a paper cutter if you have one. I love my [easyazon_link identifier=”B000OMYB18″ locale=”US” tag=”modern0fb-20 “]Fiskars paper cutter[/easyazon_link]! Then hole punch for a ribbon (or simply tape to your gift) and you are done!
You can also add a few little embellishments if you desire.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you for stopping by the homestead!
Until next time,
Melissa
