Diaper Challenge Day 5
Todays topic is: Techniques/Performance: How You Make Flats Work For You
Turns out I’m a simple gal when it comes to diapering.
Ha. Just kidding. Sort-of. (see Day 3)I love diapers, lots of them- I just like them to be easy. I don’t have patience for all these fancy folds (and neither does my daughter).
I’m on team pad-fold mixed in with a little origami if I’m feelin’ fancy. The pad fold really seems to be the most absorbent for us (I fold it in a way where I have 16 layers of absorbency) and quite frankly, the quickest to get on my squirm worm.
I had every intention of taking a bunch of great pictures of my folds but well… that just didn’t happen. My super awesome words will just have to suffice.
To pad fold:
- Fold your flat in half.
- Half again. (so you get a square{ish} shape)
- Fold one side in 1/2 way.
- Fold the other side in 1/2 way (their two ends should meet in the middle).
- Fold the whole thing in half again along the line where the two ends met.
That’s it- you are done! Clear as mud, right? Really its simple. Just fold it a bunch of times. It should look like a plain ol’ rectangle insert.
I usually tuck these in my Blueberry Capri or Coverall covers (my fav!) and they work like a charm. We really have only had a couple leaks and that was when little miss took a longer nap than usual.
At bedtime, we do an origami fold with a pad fold on top. No worries, I wont try to explain how to do an origami fold. Y’all know how to YouTube right? 🙂
It really is easy though! Trust me!
We have used origami fold during the day too and it works great as well! Both folds are very trim- another bonus!
Whew, that was a short post. Good. I’m tired- off to go wash yet another load of diapers! 🙂 Two days y’all! Two days!
(Seriously LOVING this challenge- no worries!)
